Numerical AI Development Project Leader
Work Detail
Your main technical areas will be machine learning and mathematical optimization, and you will be responsible for project management and technical guidance to team members under the supervision of the group manager. Your main job will be "contract development," and you will be assigned to projects and work on them as part of a team. You may also be responsible for "product development," or you may be assigned to multiple projects. - Contract development: Develop and test AI technology to solve client issues, with the aim of putting it into practical use. - Product development: Develop our own proprietary AI engine to be used in contract projects. Most contract projects are prime projects, and you will be involved in every process from proposal to practical use. For example, in contract development, you will work as a team of multiple people to carry out tasks such as the following: - Technical lead for numerical AI projects, including project planning, specification development, design, implementation, review, and evaluation, centered on machine learning and mathematical optimization techniques. - Client-facing role: Identify customer issues, propose technical solutions, and prepare and submit reports. - Identify tasks, schedule, provide work instructions to engineers, and review results. Promote actual project work (including outsourcing management) while reporting progress to the group leader. - Align technical solutions, deploy technology horizontally, and provide feedback to our AI engine. - Implement MLOps in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS. - Provide technical guidance within the team. - Technical research through international conferences, papers, etc.
Ideal Profile
Required Skills - Project management experience - Advanced expertise in general machine learning - Expertise in mathematical optimization or numerical forecasting, with at least 5 years of practical experience [Mathematical Optimization] - Expertise in topics such as route optimization and scheduling, with practical implementation experience [Numerical Forecasting] - Expertise in topics such as regression, classification, time-series data forecasting, and anomaly detection, with practical implementation experience - Deep understanding of algorithms such as deep learning and decision trees (GBDT) - Understanding problems through data analysis, EDA, feature extraction, and appropriate model selection - Python, R, C++ Implementation experience, etc. - Project management experience - Business-level Japanese proficiency Preferred Skills - Knowledge of data analysis infrastructure construction and MLOps - Knowledge of computer science, Linux, Docker, Git, etc. - Master's level or higher research experience in information systems or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience - Experience submitting to and presenting at domestic and international conferences and journals - PhD - Participation in and winning Kaggle or competitive programming competitions - English proficiency (Recommended: TOEIC score of 700 or above) Desired Profile - A candidate who shares our company's vision and mission - Deep knowledge and academic insight in AI - A candidate who can propose solutions to unknown challenges as well as existing ones - A candidate with a PhD and the ability to lead projects and provide appropriate explanations to clients

Full remote work is OK (location does not matter as long as it is within Japan)
Phd. Stating Salary
Annual Salary: 4,000,000 to 8,000,000 yen *The above amount includes 25 hours of assumed overtime per month.
