Numerical AI Development Project Leader
Work Detail
Your main technical areas will be machine learning and mathematical optimization. Under the supervision of a group manager, you will be responsible for project management and providing technical guidance to team members. Your primary duties will be "contract development," where you will be assigned to projects and work as part of a team. You may also be involved in "product development" or assigned to multiple projects. * Contract Development: Developing and verifying AI technologies to solve client problems, aiming for practical implementation. * Product Development: Developing our proprietary AI engine for use in contract projects. Most contract projects are prime contracts, allowing you to be involved in all stages from proposal to actual implementation. For example, in contract development, you will work as part of a team of several people on tasks such as the following: - Technical leadership for numerical AI projects, including project planning, specification development, design, implementation, review, and evaluation, centered on machine learning and mathematical optimization methods. - Identifying customer challenges through client facing, proposing technical solutions, and creating and submitting reports. - Task identification, scheduling, assigning tasks to engineers, and verifying results, while reporting progress to the group leader and driving the actual project work (including outsourcing management). - Aligning technical solutions, disseminating technology across different platforms, and providing feedback to our own AI engine. - Building MLOps using cloud environments such as Azure and AWS. - Providing technical guidance within the team. - Conducting technical research through international conferences, papers, etc.
Ideal Profile
Required Skills • Project management experience • Advanced expertise in all aspects of machine learning • Expertise in either mathematical optimization or numerical prediction, with 5+ years of practical experience [Mathematical Optimization] Expertise and social implementation experience in areas such as path optimization and scheduling [Numerical Prediction] Expertise and social implementation experience in areas such as regression, classification, time series data prediction, and anomaly detection Deep understanding of algorithms such as deep learning and decision trees (GBDT) • Problem understanding through data analysis, EDA, feature extraction, and appropriate model selection • Python, R, C++ Experience in implementing the following: • Project management experience • Business-level Japanese language proficiency Desired skills: • Knowledge of building data analysis infrastructure and MLOps • Knowledge of computer science, Linux, Docker, Git, etc. • Master's degree or higher research experience in information science or related fields, or equivalent knowledge and experience • Experience submitting and presenting at domestic and international conferences and journals • PhD • Experience participating in and winning awards at Kaggle or competitive programming competitions • English proficiency (目安: TOEIC 700 or higher) Desired candidate profile: • Someone who resonates with our company's vision and mission • Deep knowledge and academic insight into AI • Someone who can propose solutions not only to existing problems but also to unknown problems • A PhD-level researcher who can appropriately explain things to clients as the central figure in a project
Work Location
Fully remote work is acceptable (location of residence is not a factor, as long as you are within Japan).
Phd. Stating Salary
Annual salary: ¥4,000,000 - ¥8,000,000 * The above amount includes deemed overtime pay for 25 hours per month.
