[Features] Starting with powertrain technology, you will lead the planning and advanced development of 0-to-1 projects that expand new value to automobiles, mobility, and social systems. [Job Description] [Overview] As Toyota transforms into a mobility company, powertrains are not just "parts that move cars," but a crucial area that expands value to customer mobility experiences, energy use, and connections with social systems. The Powertrain New Value Creation Group is responsible for planning, advanced technology studies, demonstrations, and promotion toward commercialization of new products, services, and systems that look from vehicles to social systems, starting with the electrification, control, and system design technologies we have cultivated. The person joining us will consistently drive the project from technology planning and system concept to collaboration with related departments and external partners, demonstration plans, and problem solving, all on the theme of expanding the value of future powertrains. [Details] - Planning of new products, services, and systems utilizing powertrain technology; prior art review - System concepts, performance target setting, and feasibility studies for high-output HEV systems, electrification systems, and vehicle energy utilization - Planning and technical studies related to creating new value for existing vehicles and vehicles already on the market - ​​Scenario building and technical strategy studies in the energy management domain, linked to energy use on the societal side such as cities, businesses, and dealerships - Prototyping, evaluation, data verification, identification of control and hardware issues, and formulation of improvement policies - Project promotion involving business divisions, vehicle/unit development departments, evaluation departments, affiliated companies, suppliers, and external partners - Creation of project proposals, development plans, and organizational materials for commercialization decisions for 0→1 themes, and support for decision-making ■Expected role for this position: Member, Team Leader, Manager [Background of Recruitment] - To accelerate value expansion in the energy domain for new products, services, and other applications utilizing powertrain technology - We have several 0-to-1 projects underway, including high-output HEVs, MT conversion, classic car powertrain services, and urban energy management, and we need practical leaders to bridge the gap between planning and technology. - We want to strengthen our team of personnel who can involve internal and external stakeholders, organize technical and business challenges, and drive progress from demonstration to commercialization decisions. - We want to hire individuals who can not only handle conventional mass production development but also conceive and realize new value in powertrains.

Ideal Profile

Candidates must have practical experience in one of the following areas: - Experience in system planning, design, and evaluation of automobiles, electric vehicles, powertrains, batteries, motors, inverters, charging/power supply systems, etc. (3 years or more) - Experience in promoting technical projects involving multiple departments, suppliers, and affiliated companies, as a development leader, or project management (3 years or more) - Experience in organizing technical challenges and proposing and promoting solutions in one of the following areas: new products, new services, advanced development, technology strategy, or commercialization studies - Individuals with a strong interest in the above areas, who can independently set challenges and conduct hypothesis testing on-site and with actual equipment. *It is not necessary to meet all requirements. We welcome individuals with experience in any of these areas who want to challenge themselves to create new value from scratch. Candidates with experience or knowledge in one of the following areas are welcome: - Experience in HEV/PHEV/BEV/FCEV, motorsports, electrification systems, control development, MBD, and data analysis - Experience in launching new themes from scratch, planning demonstration projects, service planning, business feasibility studies, and customer value verification.
