Work Detail

This position involves creating genome-modified cells. (Specific Job Responsibilities) ① Genome Design: Understand the genomic information of the target cells and design gRNAs and donor sequences that enable highly efficient and accurate genome modification. Also, optimize gene expression constructs and select transgenes according to the target cells and desired phenotype. ② Genome Modification: To realize the above design, perform gene introduction and culture according to the target cells. Also, perform sequence analysis of cells after genome modification experiments to confirm that the desired genome modification has been implemented as expected. ③ Cell Performance Evaluation: To evaluate whether the created genome-modified cells have the intended function, construct and implement appropriate evaluation systems according to the cell type and desired phenotype. In genome modification design strategies, we expect you to actively collect and integrate the latest research trends and technical information, while making maximum use of our existing technologies and extensive knowledge, to collaboratively build more optimal and innovative strategies. Immediately after joining the company, you will be working on research led by the current theme leader, so even those with concerns about lack of experience are welcome to apply. We expect you to develop your skills after joining the company and eventually become a theme leader, spearheading the creation of useful cells that can compete globally and the development of cutting-edge technologies. We also welcome you to actively share your achievements with the outside world through academic presentations and other means.

Ideal Profile

Required Skills: * PhD holder or equivalent research experience (Master's degree holders with approximately 3 years of experience in similar research at a company are also acceptable) * Experience in planning research using genome editing technology (experience only as a research assistant or technician assisting with experiments is not eligible) * Teamwork skills * Interest in creating new industries using cutting-edge genome engineering technology * English proficiency sufficient for reading academic papers Preferred Skills: * Experience in genome modification (gRNA, donor sequence design experience, etc.) * Experience in analyzing genome information using genome browsers such as UCSC genome browser or Ensembl (genome construction ability; a concrete example of experience using genome analysis and design tools as described above) * Troubleshooting ability to logically analyze and identify causes and derive solutions when faced with unexpected results or failures * Planning and parallel processing ability to reliably conduct multiple experiments in parallel during spare time * Business-level English proficiency * Experience collaborating with external organizations * We also collaborate with teams promoting automation and AI, and applications from those interested in these fields are welcome. Desired Candidate Profile: - Cooperative individuals - Individuals who can report, communicate, and consult about failures and unfortunate events without hiding them

Job Type
Researcher in the field of plant science and crop breeding

You will be primarily responsible for research and development using genome editing to create new plant varieties. Depending on your abilities, you will be able to proactively advance research from design to implementation. Depending on your experience, you will also be responsible for mentoring other members. Our main technologies are as follows: 【Genome Editing Technology】 A unique platform applicable to various crops and varieties. Genome editing is one of the solutions for rapid variety development. Grand Green develops new seedlings using its proprietary crop genome editing platform technology. ★Grand Green's Unique Core Technologies ① Versatile Delivery Technology "gene App™" A unique, highly efficient delivery technology applicable to various practical varieties of various plant species. Conventional Agrobacterium methods utilize foreign genes, requiring genetic modification and tissue culture, thus requiring a certain period of time. gene App™ does not involve genetic modification and does not require tissue culture, making it possible to perform highly efficient genome editing in a shorter period of time compared to conventional technologies. (Patent Pending) ② Original Genome Editing Kit "3GE (triple GE)™" Conventional genome editing tools (enzymes) and vectors for expressing these enzymes were not optimized for crops. 3GE™ provides highly efficient genome editing through a genome editing tool and expression vector uniquely modified for plant cells. (Patent Pending) ③ Genomics Under the guidance of an experienced team of experts, primarily PhD holders in plant science and breeders, we utilize next-generation sequencers (NGS) for high-speed and accurate DNA sequencing, along with proprietary data analysis and networks, to identify target genes. ★ AI-Powered Promoter Region Genome Editing Technology "Promoter AI™" is Patented "Promoter AI™" is an AI-powered promoter region genome editing technology that adjusts gene expression levels while maintaining gene function by editing the promoter region, which determines gene expression intensity, based on AI predictions. This enables not only conventional functional knockout genome editing but also functional enhancement genome editing, enabling groundbreaking trait fertilization and is expected to revolutionize plant variety development. ★In October 2024, we established a joint industry-academia research chair (commonly known as the "Future Crop Lab") at Nagoya University. We are actively conducting collaborative research with academic researchers and will continue to promote the development of new crops and technologies through industry-academia collaboration.
