- Laser Process Development Engineer | Providing demonstration and development of cutting-edge technologies, including conducting experiments and prototype evaluations independently.
"Accelerating the demonstration and social implementation of cutting-edge laser technology through our own 'experimentation and evaluation'."
Our company utilizes cutting-edge laser technology to provide optimal processing solutions to a wide range of manufacturing customers supporting Japanese manufacturing, including those in the automotive, aerospace, and electronics industries.
Ultra-high-power, high-precision lasers, based on nuclear fusion technology, will bring dramatic innovation to existing industrial processing processes. We are currently recruiting "development engineers" who will not only engage in theory and simulation, but also repeatedly prototype and verify processes in the laboratory and on-site to create new laser processing processes.
We are looking for colleagues who are excited about the challenge of implementing world-first technologies into society with their own hands, leveraging their science and engineering backgrounds (mechanical, electrical, physics, materials, etc.) and development and evaluation experience.
Specific Job Responsibilities
You will be broadly responsible for practical work, from research and development of new process technologies using lasers to experimentation, evaluation, and system construction.
[Main Job Responsibilities]
1. Laser Process Development and Irradiation Experiments
• Research and development of new processing processes using lasers
• Selection and development of parameters for laser irradiation conditions and optical/process conditions
• Execution of prototype processing and verification experiments in our own laboratory
2. System and Optical Unit Construction and Verification
• Simple design of laser systems for experimentation and evaluation, and optical/mechanical/control systems
• Selection, assembly, and adjustment of optical units (lenses, mirrors, sensors, etc.)
3. Data Analysis, Performance Evaluation, and Improvement
• Measurement of prototypes and experimental samples, evaluation and analysis of material structure and processing quality
• Data analysis of obtained evaluation results, and formulation of process improvement proposals for technical challenges
4. Technical Verification and Collaborative Development Support
• Promotion and attendance of demonstration experiments in collaborative technical development with customers and research partners (universities/research institutions)
• Organization of technical data and report creation
[Attractiveness of this Position]
1. The satisfaction of manufacturing, transforming "theory" into "reality"
1. You can fully commit to "real-world development," where you actually irradiate materials with lasers and evaluate and verify how they change, rather than just engaging in theoretical discussions.
2. Growth as a cross-disciplinary (multitasking) engineer
By working with cutting-edge laser systems that involve a wide range of elemental technologies such as optics, mechanics, electrical engineering, control systems, and materials science, you will acquire comprehensive technical skills that are not limited to a single field.
3. Overwhelmingly fast development speed and significant autonomy
Thanks to the rapid decision-making unique to startups, you can lead research and development with the speed to "formulate a hypothesis and immediately experiment."
*If you are unsure which position best matches your experience, you can apply for either one to start with. During the interview and selection process, we will propose the most suitable position based on your experience and preferences.
