Work Detail

You will be primarily responsible for research and development using genome editing to create new varieties. Depending on your ability, you can independently proceed with research from research design to implementation. Depending on your experience, you will also be responsible for providing guidance to other members. Our main technologies are as follows. [Genome editing technology] Unique platform applicable to various crops and varieties Genome editing is one solution for rapid variety development. At Grand Green, we are developing new seeds and seedlings using our proprietary crop genome editing platform technology. ★Grand Green's unique core technology ①General-purpose delivery technology “gene App™” Unique high-efficiency delivery technology applicable to various commercial varieties of various plant species. The conventional Agrobacterium method requires a certain period of time because it utilizes foreign genes, requires genetic recombination, and requires tissue culture. gene App™ does not involve genetic recombination and does not require tissue culture, making it possible to perform highly efficient genome editing in a shorter period of time than conventional techniques. (Patent pending) ②Original genome editing kit “3GE (triple GE)™” Until now, genome editing tools (enzymes) and vectors that express enzymes have not been optimized for crops. 3GE™ provides highly efficient genome editing using uniquely improved genome editing tools and expression vectors for plant cells. (Patent pending) ③Genomics Under the guidance of a team of experienced experts, mainly plant science PhDs and breeders, we utilize next-generation sequencers (NGS), which determine DNA base sequences quickly and accurately, as well as our unique data analysis and network, to identify target genes. ★Promoter AI™, a promoter region genome editing technology using AI, has been patented Promoter AI™, a promoter region genome editing technology that utilizes AI, is a technology that adjusts the expression level while maintaining gene function by editing the promoter region, which determines gene expression strength, based on AI predictions. This makes it possible to impart innovative traits not only through conventional function-deficient genome editing but also through functional-enhancing genome editing, which is expected to revolutionize the development of plant varieties. ★In October 2024, an industry-academia collaborative research course (commonly known as Future Crops Lab) will be established at Nagoya University. We are actively conducting joint research with academic researchers, and will continue to promote the development of new crops and technologies through industry-academia collaboration.
