National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology
Job Type
Postdoctoral Fellow
Work Detail
We use synchrotron radiation and proton beams to analyze elemental distribution and chemical forms in tissues and cells, and to study the elemental characteristics and formation mechanisms of localized and concentrated biometals. In particular, we promote technological development that can contribute to radiation emergency medicine, such as the evaluation of actinide in vivo kinetics and tissue migration. We aim to clarify the elemental characteristics and formation mechanism of localized and concentrated biometals by in situ termination of metal distribution and chemical status with quantum beam-based elemental analysis, such as PIXE, SR-XRF, and XAFS. In particular, we promote technological development that can contribute to radiation emergency medicine, such as the evaluation of actinide in vivo kinetics and tissue migration.
