Work Detail

Our company is a deep tech startup originating from Osaka University, developing a commercial laser fusion reactor. This position is for a research and development role, specifically within the laser irradiation control (optical system control) department at our Hamamatsu development base. We are seeking expert personnel with a certain level of research skills (Master's degree or higher). [Specific Job Responsibilities] • Design and development of laser irradiation control systems • Precision measurement of minute quantities • Fabrication of optical devices • Joint development with partner companies/institutions etc. [Background of Recruitment] To strengthen development operations due to business and organizational expansion.

Ideal Profile

Required Skills (1) Graduates with a major in science and engineering (physics, astronomy, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, etc.) (2) Holders of a Master's or Doctoral degree (3) Possession of knowledge/experience in one or more of the following areas (※Please specify the relevant area when applying): ・Lasers, optical components, and sensors ・Mechanical design ・Expertise in analog/digital circuits, or control using them ・Finite element method simulation (dynamic analysis, thermal analysis) ・Optical design/optical simulation (ZEMAX, etc.) ・Optical telescopes ・Software development (Python, C/C++) • Expertise in materials Desired Skills • Experience using Comsol • Knowledge/experience with FPGAs • Statistical analysis • Vacuum technology • Soldering • IT skills Desired Candidate Profile • Strong desire to make Japan's future better • Adaptability to enjoy the changes that accompany the rapid growth of the business and organization • Proactiveness and initiative to identify problems and make improvements • Dexterity and a love of hands-on work (someone who wants to do experiments) • Communication skills to build good relationships with people inside and outside the company • A pioneering spirit

Analog Electrical Circuit Module Development Engineer

We are seeking development engineers for analog circuit modules to drive various types of lasers. ● Organizing the driving conditions (voltage, current, etc.) for semiconductor lasers, fiber lasers, and solid-state lasers. Since laser development is also progressing in parallel, you will work with the laser team to finalize specifications. ● Considering circuit designs that prioritize small size and light weight. ● Investigating usable radiation-resistant components. ● Analog circuit design. This involves mixed circuits using microcontrollers, FPGAs, and ADC/DACs. Verification will primarily be done using SPICE. ADS is not mandatory, but proficiency is a plus. ● This is the most crucial stage of analog circuit design. Wiring, ground planes, power supply, crosstalk. ● Handling high voltage and high current. ● Structural design will be done in collaboration with the in-house structural design team and external contractors. ● Use of laboratories within RIKEN (the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research) is available. ● We are currently setting up a laboratory in Kawasaki. ● Completing laser drive modules for satellite mounting.
