Our company is a deep tech startup originating from Osaka University, aiming to revolutionize the energy industry and create new industries through laser nuclear fusion. We are recruiting for research and development positions in high-power, high-repetition-rate lasers for use as drivers in laser nuclear fusion reactors. [Specific Job Responsibilities] - Research and development of high-power lasers for implosion - Research and development of high-intensity lasers for fast ignition - Research and development related to cooling of laser media - Other applications of high-power lasers [Background of Recruitment] We are seeking personnel to promote laser research and development aimed at the practical application of drivers for laser nuclear fusion reactors, with the goal of conducting nuclear fusion experiments at our own facility.

Ideal Profile

Required Skills *Experience in one of the following: - Development of materials such as crystals, glass, and ceramics for lasers - Experience in optical design such as lenses - Experience in designing and developing solid-state lasers (oscillators and amplifiers), or experience in assembly and alignment Preferred Skills *Experience in one of the following: - Efficient heat removal technology for laser media - Experience in designing ultrashort pulse lasers (oscillators and amplifiers) - Laser device design using Zemax, codeV, etc. - Technology related to phase, wavefront, and focusing control of laser light - Analysis technology for thermal effects on laser media (thermal lenses, thermal birefringence, etc.) - Experience in developing wavelength conversion technology - Experience handling high-power, ultrashort pulse lasers Desired Candidate Profile - Someone interested in lasers

Analog Electrical Circuit Module Development Engineer

We are seeking development engineers for analog circuit modules to drive various types of lasers. ● Organizing the driving conditions (voltage, current, etc.) for semiconductor lasers, fiber lasers, and solid-state lasers. Since laser development is also progressing in parallel, you will work with the laser team to finalize specifications. ● Considering circuit designs that prioritize small size and light weight. ● Investigating usable radiation-resistant components. ● Analog circuit design. This involves mixed circuits using microcontrollers, FPGAs, and ADC/DACs. Verification will primarily be done using SPICE. ADS is not mandatory, but proficiency is a plus. ● This is the most crucial stage of analog circuit design. Wiring, ground planes, power supply, crosstalk. ● Handling high voltage and high current. ● Structural design will be done in collaboration with the in-house structural design team and external contractors. ● Use of laboratories within RIKEN (the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research) is available. ● We are currently setting up a laboratory in Kawasaki. ● Completing laser drive modules for satellite mounting.
