■ Job Description Your primary technical area will be natural language processing, and under the supervision of the group manager, you will be responsible for project management and technical guidance to team members. Your main job will be "contract development," and you will be assigned to projects and work on them as part of a team. You may also be responsible for "product development," or be assigned to multiple projects. - Contract development: Develop and test AI technology to solve client issues, with the aim of putting it into practical use. - Product development: Develop our own proprietary AI engine to be used in contract projects. Most contract projects are prime projects, and you will be involved in every process from proposal to practical use. For example, in contract development, you will work as a team of multiple people to carry out the following tasks: - Identifying client issues and considering/proposing technical solutions. - Conducting technical research through international conferences, papers, etc. - Analyzing and visualizing client data. - Implementing, verifying, and evaluating technical methods such as deep learning and machine learning, primarily focusing on natural language processing. - Consulting with technical advisors from Hokkaido University. - Writing and publishing reports. You will also be responsible for the following project manager duties: - Client-facing - Project planning, specification development, task identification, scheduling, instructing engineers, and progress management. - Design, implementation, review, and evaluation. [Development Environment] - Primarily Python development. - Use and development of language models using libraries such as Huggingface. [Affiliation Information] - Regular mentoring sessions with university professors are available, allowing you to consult on your assigned projects and discuss papers. - As a Hokkaido University-based venture, you will have access to cutting-edge academic knowledge.

Ideal Profile

Required Skills ・Project management experience ・Expertise in natural language processing, text mining, and unstructured data analysis ・Advanced knowledge and experience of AI technologies, such as deep learning, machine learning, and optimization algorithms ・Development experience using Python, R, C++, etc. (5+ years of work experience in any of these) ・Native-level Japanese proficiency Preferred Skills ・Interests, concerns, and experience related to the LLM, including GPT ・Master's degree or higher research experience in information systems or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience ・Experience submitting and presenting at international conferences/international and domestic journals ・PhD ・Experience participating in and winning Kaggle or competitive programming competitions Desired Profile ・Someone who shares our vision and mission ・Deep knowledge and academic insight in AI ・Ability to propose solutions to unknown challenges as well as existing ones ・PhD-level researcher with the ability to effectively explain projects to clients as the core of the project

Phd. Stating Salary

Annual Salary: 4,000,000 to 8,000,000 yen *The above amount includes 25 hours of assumed overtime per month.

You will actively research and make recommendations, including publishing your own papers. By leveraging your experience and knowledge, you will be able to independently plan and propose research directions, goals, approaches, and plans, making this a challenging position. - Speech recognition algorithms (acoustic models, language models, end-to-end models, diarization, etc.) - Acoustic processing algorithms (time-series signal processing, speech enhancement, noise reduction, etc.) - Machine learning algorithms related to the above (deep learning, etc.) Based on Honda's shared philosophy of "technology for people," we will leverage our experience and knowledge to lead research and development with speed and innovative ideas, striving to be unique in the world. We will also aim for even better results through rapid prototyping, experimentation, analysis, and feedback, with specific application fields and users in mind. We will actively disseminate research results externally through international conferences and papers, thereby enhancing our company's presence. This project will be promoted as a research project under the Research Division Manager (Research Division). Research projects are proposed by researchers themselves, including the content and budget, and are launched with board approval. - Approximately half of our employees are foreign nationals, creating a truly international workplace.
