Chemical Researcher

QunaSys is recruiting a new Researcher for its Chemical Research Team! Chemical Research Team Mission - Our team aims to accelerate innovation in materials and chemistry by dramatically increasing the accuracy and scale of predictions for electronic structures, reactions, and physical properties that were previously difficult to calculate, through the fusion of quantum computing and quantum chemistry. - To achieve this, we are developing innovative computational techniques that integrate quantum chemistry (wave function theory), quantum algorithms (FTQC/Early-FTQC/NISQ), error tolerance/error mitigation, classical quantum chemical calculations (DFT/wave function theory/MD), and materials informatics, and connecting research results to real-world problems (materials discovery, catalysts, batteries, drug discovery, etc.). Specific Job Responsibilities (Flexible approach based on skills and interests) • Research and development of quantum algorithms for quantum chemistry (FTQC/Early-FTQC/NISQ) Design and improvement of quantum algorithms for electronic structure calculations (ground state and excited state) and reaction pathway evaluation Algorithm design based on the FTQC environment (development of new algorithms and reduction of resources for existing algorithms, etc.) Exploration of computationally valuable problems • Hybrid integration with classical computation (computational chemistry workflow) Integrating DFT/wave function theory/molecular dynamics with quantum computation and translating it into real-world research flows Clarifying the value of quantum computation intervention in areas difficult with existing methods (strong correlations, transition metals, open-shell systems, excitation/charge transfer, etc.) Providing computation results as indicators that can be connected to experiments and material exploration (energy difference, spectrum, reaction barrier, etc.) • Problem solving with customers and collaborative partners (PoC, (Joint Development) We listen to the challenges of customers and researchers and propose solutions from the perspective of quantum chemistry and quantum computing. PoC design, regular reporting, and iterative improvement through feedback. Publication of results through joint research (publications, benchmark/demonstration PR). - Balancing field-leading innovative research with social implementation in industrial settings. We grasp the latest papers and trends and propose and promote research themes that balance implementability and impact. Through joint research with universities and companies, we create new technologies that are applicable globally and advance their application to real-world problems. Collaborating with other teams accelerates the productization of technology and the social implementation of results.
