[Job Description] The Research Department conducts research and development in natural language processing and machine learning, and works closely with the product team to develop natural language processing and machine learning functions for products. We also conduct joint research on knowledge graphs with the Inui Laboratory at Tohoku University and have published "Introduction to Natural Language Processing with BERT (Ohmsha)." This position will lead research and development in natural language processing and machine learning within the Research Department. ■Specific Job Responsibilities Development of natural language processing and machine learning functions for products Development of methods for structuring news articles using named entity recognition and text classification Construction of business-useful knowledge graphs from news articles Development of recommendation methods for news articles Research and development on text summarization and text generation from news, papers/patents, and general business documents Scope of Changes in Job Responsibilities: Development and operation of company-operated services and products, related tasks, and other tasks designated by the company [Development Environment] [Organizational Structure] Research Division (9 members) - LLM Unit (3 members) [Main Programming Language] Python

Ideal Profile

Required Skills *All are required - Deep knowledge and work experience in natural language processing - Graduate degree in science or engineering Preferred Skills Research and practical experience in any of the following technologies: - Deep learning language models such as BERT - Named entity recognition, text classification, relation extraction - Knowledge graphs - Text generation, machine translation - Syntactic analysis, dependency parsing, semantic analysis Experience with papers accepted at peer-reviewed international conferences and in English academic journals Desired Candidate Profile Inherently interested in technology and ambitious to become a leading expert in the field Enjoys following and verifying the latest theories by reading papers Can communicate with the business side and think about how to deliver to customers and grow the business Must be able to reside in Japan Must be able to communicate smoothly in Japanese, including technical content related to development Target: Business conversation level
