Work Detail

This research will evaluate and analyze superconducting coils for operation in ITER and JT-60SA. Detailed analysis of the data obtained will collect fundamental data contributing to the safe and stable operation of superconducting coils for fusion reactors. Furthermore, aiming to achieve both increased fusion power through higher magnetic fields and miniaturization, the design and analysis of superconducting coils using high-temperature superconducting wires will also be conducted. High-temperature superconductivity technology is essential for the future development of small fusion reactors, and this research will play a crucial role in building the core technological foundation for this. Through this research and development, we will promote the development of superconducting coils for fusion reactors and contribute to the realization of future fusion energy.

Ideal Profile

(1) Those who are expected to complete a master's or doctoral program in either science or engineering at a graduate school by March 2027, or those who have completed such a program in March 2024 or later. (2) Those with experience in research and development of superconducting wires, superconducting coils, cryogenic refrigerators, cryogenic structural materials, or electrical insulating materials.
