Mechanical design engineer for satellite-mounted optical systems

We develop payload equipment and satellites for the Space Debris Removal Project, which uses lasers to remotely control the attitude and orbit of space debris, and the Satellite LiDAR Project, which observes the Earth's surface by shining a laser at the ground from a satellite. We are looking for a mechanical design engineer for lasers and optical systems, which are key components of the Mission Department. Specific job duties are as follows: - Design, evaluation, verification, and testing of laser oscillator housing structures that can withstand launch and space environments (mechanical environmental testing, thermal vacuum testing, etc.) - Design, evaluation, verification, and testing of optical component holding mechanisms/structures that can withstand launch and space environments (mechanical environmental testing, thermal environmental testing, etc.) - Work with thermal design engineers to design and verify heat dissipation/insulation structures and systems - Development support for instrumentation systems (wiring, etc.) - Design and development of jigs and other components related to the assembly, evaluation, and testing of mission components, including lasers, and launch preparation Note: We welcome those who wish to gain experience in or master laser development through consultation with engineers with over 20 years of laser development experience. In addition, work specific to the space field (thermal control systems, environmental testing, etc.) that is not required for ground equipment development will be carried out with the support of engineers with over 30 years of satellite development experience, so no experience is required.
